Description
This is a genuine British military M44 pattern bayonet scabbard frog in olive drab webbing — an authentic surplus piece pulled from British Commonwealth stores. Constructed from the heavy cotton webbing that defined mid-20th century British and Commonwealth field kit, the frog is designed to secure a bayonet scabbard to a soldier's waist belt for carry in the field.
The frog features the classic British webbing loop-and-tab construction: an upper belt loop for threading onto a standard issue web belt, and a lower retention loop that captures the scabbard body and keeps it locked in place during movement. Everything is stitched from woven cotton webbing in the muted olive shade familiar to collectors of post-war British and Commonwealth militaria.
Who It Sells To
This is a strong-turning small-ticket item for shops that serve militaria collectors, reenactors, and edged-weapon enthusiasts. Buyers restoring or completing a period British kit, displaying a bayonet on a belt rig, or filling a gap in a webbing set will pick these up on sight. They also cross-sell naturally to customers already purchasing British pattern belts, pouches, and blades.
Condition
Supplied in used, issued condition. Expect honest field-use character — light soiling, faded webbing, and stitching wear consistent with genuine service life. This is real surplus, not a reproduction, and each piece carries the patina of its history.
