Description
A genuine piece of Cold War history, this East German Wachregiment Officer's Uniform Jacket was issued to members of the elite NVA-Wachregiment "Friedrich Engels" — the ceremonial guard regiment of the National People's Army (Nationale Volksarmee) of the former German Democratic Republic. Used and inspected, each jacket carries the look, feel, and authenticity that surplus collectors, reenactors, and militaria buyers actively hunt for.
The stone-grey tunic features the unmistakable tailoring of an East Bloc dress uniform: notched lapels, structured shoulders, a five-button front with silver-tone buttons, and the embroidered "NVA-Wachregiment" cuff title that identifies the wearer as a member of the honor guard. White piping on the cuffs and contrasting collar tabs add the parade-ground detailing that makes this piece instantly recognizable to collectors of Warsaw Pact uniforms.
Why It Sells
Authentic East German uniforms are a finite resource — once existing surplus stocks are gone, they're gone. This jacket appeals to a wide cross-section of buyers: militaria collectors building Cold War displays, reenactors portraying NVA personnel, film and theater wardrobe departments, airsoft and milsim players running Eastern Bloc impressions, and surplus-fashion shoppers drawn to the clean lines and vintage utility-pocket styling. The neutral grey-green colorway pairs easily with denim or fatigues for everyday wear.

Condition & Origin
Original military surplus from the former East Germany (GDR). Each jacket is previously issued and used, so expect minor variations in wear, sizing tags, and patina from piece to piece — part of the character that surplus customers look for. Sizing follows the original NVA system (e.g., g-52-1 stamped at the collar).
Care
Dry clean recommended to preserve the embroidery, buttons, and tailored shape.
