Description
An authentic piece of Cold War history, this East German (NVA/DDR) white leather belt was originally issued for parade dress and ceremonial use with the uniforms of the Nationale Volksarmee. Its bright white finish, clean lines, and polished metal hardware made it a signature element of formal East German military attire — and today it's one of the most recognizable and collectible surplus items to come out of the former GDR.
Constructed from solid leather with a natural tan reverse, the belt features a wide strap punched with a double row of adjustment holes and a heavy nickel-finished roller buckle with twin prongs. The double-prong design locks the belt securely in place — exactly what was required to keep parade uniforms looking sharp on the drill field. Because this is genuine surplus from a country that no longer exists, every belt carries its own subtle character: storage marks, light scuffs, faint stamps on the underside, and the patina that only decades in a depot can produce.
